The guy that drove us to the Best Western Garden Inn in Salt Lake City was nice, but there was one part that scared me. A guy was riding in the front seat from the airport to the hotel and asked the driver if the hotel bar was still open. The driver responded “I’m not sure if it’s still open now, but I was in there an hour ago and it was.”
I made the comment that I wasn’t sure if I should be worried about the fact that the driver was in the bar an hour ago, but only my wife was paying attention to me and laughed.
Well it’s 10:30pm Mountain Standard Time and I’m in the Best Western Garden Inn in Salt Lake City. Our plane was an hour late taking off from Houston, which pretty much wiped out all hope of making our connection back home to Spokane tonight. Our plane landed at the time our connecting flight took off. Fortunately, our third Delta ticket agent (after two unhelpful ones) got us booked on a flight tomorrow and put us up in this hotel for free. It was their fault, after all.
I must say our room is much better than the one we stayed in Houston. The wireless connection just works great, the rooms are clean and relatively big. The hotel is a bit different in that they have several buildings, and not a lot of floors. We’re staying in room 404 (and we found it easily, hehe) and had to walk over a bit of slush and ice. No biggie, just preparing us to go home. We get back at around noon tomorrow.
