Cisco Routers

First watch, 5 bells (10:44 pm)

I spent several hours working on a new Cisco 881w 802.11n router today. It mostly seems to work great, but the firewall has proved to be really flaky. I suspect that using CCP is causing some of the problems (unpredictable behavior, mostly), but I can't be sure. I have several things to get done tomorrow, hopefully this router is resolved soon. Spent nearly four hours on it today, though.

I've got a lot of code to write tomorrow, and it's got to be in ASP, the bane of my existence. It has to be one of the worst thought-out commercial scripting languages ever. I suspect that if Microsoft's name wasn't on it, the language would be dead and buried. Instead, it gets an upgrade. Maybe aspx is better, I don't know. The problem is I don't really want to invest the time to find out—its predecessor is so poor I just don't believe it can be any good.
