My MUD server (yes, the one I've been writing forever) seems to have some issues with certain telnet clients. I think it's because they're sending weird telnet option requests and I just ignore them. I really should fix that. Here's a nice site that talks about the telnet protocol and its large group of obscure options.
What I really need to do is read up some more about boost::asio and enter the modern age of network coding. Maybe.
Oh yeah, and boost::format, too! So many tools, so little room in the toolbox…
Well, either that or jump out of a window. My official retirement statement came back from last year. Despite my not-insignificant contributions, I managed to lose five times what I contributed. My losses this past year are almost exactly the same as what my yearly salary comes to. Now I'm sure a lot more people have lost a lot more money than I have, but it's still a lot to me.
Last night we played Pandemic with Ellie and Wade. I can't remember playing a cooperative board game like this before. Once we played through our first game (and lost quite badly), I think we started figuring out how to work together better, so our second game was successful. It was really fun, and quite strategic. And like I said, you have to work together, not against each other, to win the game.
