More Lights

I added a fluorescent light in the pantry I built under the stairs. It’s anchored directly above the doorway, perpendicular to the ceiling. Due to the space constraints, I had to use a remodel box to house the switch, there was no way to hook it up to a framing stud because it was all drywalled.

I have a gripe about the fluorescent fixture, but I’ll blog about it tomorrow. The instructions were really ambiguous.

I tested the light and it looked good. It was plenty bright, it uses two 24 inch, 14 watt T5 bulbs. I also ran power to the switch for the library entry recessed light and the ceiling fan. I started running romex from the switch to the ceiling fan, but ran out of daylight. Tomorrow I’ll be happy if I get the run to the ceiling fan done and the wires tied off at the recessed fixture.
