Tech Nagios

Even though I never have figured out how to pronounce it (whether it’s a hard-g or more of a ‘j’ sound), I do really like the Nagios project. I just don’t like the crazy configuration sometimes. Today I hooked up NRPE, a remote-execution plugin for some servers and everything went fine until I had to build the NRPE for a 64-bit server. Getting it to run right with SSL was a pain, but I finally figured it out and am quite happy now.

All that so I get a warning when any disk partition drops below 20% free space. Seems like a lot of work, but I know it will pay off in the long run.

Today is my 3rd wedding anniversary. All of Mexico celebrates this fact. Lots of Americans drink Corona in honor of it, too. My wife and I appreciate the fact that so many celebrate with us.
