Afternoon watch, 2 bells (1:00 pm)
Yesterday I ran across the Wikipedia article of games with concealed rules and found it very interesting. And just a bit funny, too.
Forenoon watch, 8 bells (12:29 pm)
Two things happened that are nigh-unbelievable, both within 15 miles of where I live and work.
First, a man cuts his hand off and microwaves it because it had the "mark of the beast" on it or something. At least he used a tourniquet first.
He used a circular saw! OUCH! My father lost the end of his thumb to a table saw, but holy cow that must have hurt.
Secondly, and much more tragically, a local 7th grade boy died on the hood of his mother's car in front of his school when he collapsed from heart trouble. The funeral is today.
