eBay Pirate Goodness

Afternoon watch, 4 bells (2:08 pm)

Remember the smackdown on eBay software piracy I posted about last month?

Well, today I have some new pictures for you, hot off my browser. This just doesn’t get old…stupid illegal software pirates. Don’t they know they can’t hotlink my images?

Stopping piracy one auction at a time, part two

The best part about this whole thing is the pirate has the image in his cache, so he never sees the warning, but everyone else does.

“It’s Not My Problem” Attitude
Forenoon watch, 5 bells (10:47 am)

I just found out that one of the two dozen laptops we send out to training seminars and trade shows came back missing some keys from the keyboard.

There was no note on the laptop, the keys are nowhere to be found. Nobody send me an email to say there was a problem, nor did they bother to call or leave a message. They (apparently) just packed it up as-is and sent it home figuring it was somebody else’s problem.

I sent out a company-wide email asking for someone to fess up, but I’m not getting my hopes up too high.

PS The email worked, although it took a little while. They missing keys are at an employee’s home and will be brought in to the office tomorrow.
