Federal Courthouse Groundbreaking Ceremony
Afternoon watch, 3 bells (1:36 pm)

Well, today I got to be a part of the Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Federal Courthouse building in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It wasn’t as highly-attended as I thought it might have been, but the mayor was here, along with numerous judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement from both the city and county, as well as some Federal Marshals. The joke was made that we had the judge, jury, and executioners all in one place, which doesn’t happen all that often…

I was on hand to assist with the technical details of the projector, sound system, and other general facilities issues. It was nice to be able to help JDL Enterprises (the kind landlords of our building, who are also heading the project to build the new Federal Courthouse), and I got to mead John and Donna Luger, the owners.

I noticed I sat right behind a newspaper reporter, and thought I’d better blog this before she can get anything out, so I can scoop her, hehe.

So here, without further ado, are my “exclusive” pictures. I screenshotted them out of the animation they played, so I guess they’re exclusive.

Bomb Dog
Posted in General
Forenoon watch, 1 bell (8:35 am)

The bomb dog was just sniffing around my door. I hope he didn’t find anything…

PS I wanted to get some ham and put it in a box for the bomb doggie to sniff out, or maybe have some in my pockets when he came by, but figured it was probably a CLM (Career-Limiting Move).
