Ground Zero

Afternoon watch, 2 bells (1:13 pm)

Tomorrow is the big groundbreaking ceremony for the new Federal Courthouse here in Coeur d’Alene. I just finished cleaning up after some *cough*sales*cough* people that left their stuff out in the foyer: a new tradeshow booth, the old tradeshow booth (several hundred pounds of it), etc and getting things cleaned up for the mayor, building owners, et al. that will be showing up tomorrow. Apparently we’re to have federal marshals all around the building, and our doors will be locked all day.

I’m kind of in charge of the A/V equipment, too, so I expect I’ll be called on a lot tomorrow as things are ramping up. I wonder if I should dress nicer than usual…

Forenoon watch, 5 bells (10:54 am)

My birthday is coming up, somebody find me a copy of Fred Saberhagen’s An Old Friend of the Family, please! I am waiting for it to continue reading the rest of the series!

I’m getting this off BookMooch, so don’t worry about it.
