A recent visit to the bowling alley leads me to believe you find a better portion of the heaviest part of the population there than anywhere else. I submit to you, dear readers, that the only place you will ever witness a 350 pound man doing a victory dance is at a bowling alley.

In fact, let’s make this official:

Jacob’s Corollary: You will see more fat people doing public victory dances in a bowling alley than you will anywhere else.

After seeing the previews, Lorien and I were excited to go see this movie, it looked great!

Well, it was far from it. The movie was extremely predictable, the story had a few interesting bits, but was nothing to write home about. The animation was definitely blasé, something I would expect from a movie of several years ago, but certainly not up to today’s standard.

All in all, if you’ve got nothing to do and have kids, they’d probably like it. You may just want to skip it and find something else, though, I don’t think it was worth the (free) tickets I had to get us in to see it.

Strangeness Weird Weather

It started snowing in Coeur d’Alene early yesterday afternoon, sometime shortly after lunch, and by the time I got back to the parking lot (Lorien and I went out to a movie), my car was buried under three inches of snow. The roads are terribly slick and dangerous.

I drove home, dreading every mile and how much time it would take to shovel the snow off my driveway, when much to my surprise the snow stopped, and by the time I got home there was barely a quarter inch over only some parts of the driveway. I still cleaned it up, but it was a pleasant surprise.

It is odd, though, how different the weather can be in about a 5 mile radius.
