Since Intel has decided to make their Pentium D CPUs hot enough to heat your office in the winter here (I’ve got several that idle at 60 C!), I’ve been forced to add some better-than-OEM cooling solutions. Today I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 6+, and I must say while it cools down the CPU pretty well, it’s not a very good design. I had to clip soldering points on the back of the motherboard to get the support strut mounted. And that was after removing an entire set of washers from the bolts. I could only attach the back by a half of a bolt-thread if I had the washers on, and tightening those down further was a recipe for disaster. Overall, I’d take the Big Typhoon by ThermalTake any day.
Here’s how to make your own balloon molecule models. Just in case you have nothing to do.

Here’s how to make a calcium carbide cannon out of PVC and some spare wood. Technically not a firework, but it makes a big boom. Plus, it’s safer than black powder as you can’t really overload it—the reaction just doesn’t get enough air if you do.
