Last Saturday Lorien and I went to Target and registered for our wedding. It was a lot of fun, walking around the whole store zapping things with the scan gun. We spent about four hours on our feet, which wasn't fun, but it was neat shopping for things like that with her.
After the registration, we were going to see a movie, but on our way (even before we got to the freeway) her Uncle S called and needed someone to watch his business while he did an emergency DJ job. So we were going to postpone movie night until this week, and I went home. I wasn't there for more than a minute when Lorien called me back, and the emergency DJ job fell through (their real DJ finally showed up), so our movie was back on. We cruised over to Spokane and checked out the valley mall while waiting to get in to see The Wedding Date. It was all right. Not the greatest movie ever made, but it had some funny parts.
Yesterday my soon-to-be sister-in-law had her third baby, a 7 pound 4 ounce, 21 inch girl. So I'm an uncle, almost.
Today wasn't the most exciting day—I solved a whole ton of problems at the office, got all of my high-priority tasks done, and lots of other ones, too. I also spent some time this evening polishing up my most recent wxWindows program. I've been in front of the computer for far too many hours today, so I'm logging out and calling it a day.
I bought a new website today! You may not be able to see it yet, but it will be available as soon as the DNS tables are propagated.
I don't have much information up yet, but that will come in time.
Few things are cooler than pirate music, like Scurvy by Captain Bogg or A Pirate's Life is Peaceful til Someone Cuts You Up, by Pirate Jenny (both are free downloads at Amazon).
The NY Times has an article about a chef that prints sushi out on flavored paper. This is, quite possibly, one of the strangest things I've ever heard of. And for $240 for a meal, I think I'll get my fiber in a different manner.
Tonight I saw my first RV in the Wal-Mart parking lot on my way home—you know it's almost spring when the old people start using their parking lot as an RV park again!
This article at Wired is great, especially this quote about the Digital Media Group:
"In the media group they all smoke the company dope on that one," the manager said.
Last night's episode was frustrating, the teams went to Shanghai, China. I would so clean up on a leg like that. Everybody was lost and had real trouble communicating. Duh, it's China. What really cracked me up was how they'd just try to get people on the street to talk to them. Most people over there don't speak English, it's not like European countries at all.
