Let the Flaming Begin

Afternoon watch, 6 bells (3:22 pm)

Last night I finished watching Wolf's Rain, from the creators of Cowboy Bebop.

Now these guys can really write stories. The plot is always great, and the animation excellent. A really top-quality show. But why the freak can't they write an even remotely happy ending?? Once again, they manage to kill everyone in the end. It's the train-wreck ending I hate the most. I can just see them sitting around saying "how are we going to finish this episode?" and responding "let's just kill them all off and start a new show."

We like happy endings, but understand when main characters have to die. Do all of them have to die? Certainly not. But can't you let one freaking character live? It's the most unhappy, unfulfilling waste of time I've ever had the displeasure to be a part of. From now on, when I start watching a new show I'm going to check if it is done by the same people—and if so, well, I already know how it's going to end and don't need to watch it.

What a load of crap. Screw you, Wolf's Rain and Cowboy Bebop writers! Your stories are great, but your endings SUCK like nothing that has ever sucked before. My only consolation is that your lives will end the same way your shows do.

(Ok that was a bit harsh, but I'm really miffed about being burned twice by these monkeys).
