Short Film Roll
Posted in General
First watch, 3 bells (9:43 pm)

The film I used tonight was 24 exposure, so I took the rest of the pictures from my house—night shots. Tonight there is really thick fog out, and I went around taking different pictures at different exposure times (leaving the aperture open for 2, 4, and 8 seconds), using a couple different lenses. I'm not too sure how they'll turn out, but film isn't that expensive, and it's fun to play around with. Plus, I wanted to get L's pictures developed ASAP and back to her and her family.

“All Dolled Up”

First watch, 3 bells (9:40 pm)

I stopped by, as promised, at L's to take a couple pictures of her (all dolled up in her words) and her Uncle before the shindig they were heading out to. She looked great in her 20's costume, I'll get a pic up when I get some developed. Her Uncle had a cool red Zoot Suit. They took off and I stayed and talked to her parents for over an hour. They're really cool people.

A Session at O’Shay’s
Posted in General
Afternoon watch, 4 bells (2:03 pm)

Last night my coworker JS was playing in a session at O'Shay's pub downtown. I thought it sounded like it'd be a good session, so I thought I'd try to drop by. I did my martial arts training at JT's class (which amounted to me stretching my sore, cramped legs out most of the night), then ran home and took a shower. I called L and asked her if she'd like to go. Her parents were in Spokane, but she said she'd be up for it after they got back (she had to watch the inn). She called me around 8:50 and said they were back, so I hopped out of the tub (I was soaking my sore, cramped legs), got dressed, and headed right out. The session was cool, I saw several other coworkers there (TW, JE, NR, etc), but the seating was cramped by the door (where the session was going on) so L and I headed toward the back of the pub. We parked at the end of the bar (it's hammered copper, really neat looking bar) and listened and talked. We had a lot of laughs (most heartily about bad karaoke), it was a really fun night.
