It's snowing pretty hard again, today is a good day to stay in and get some much-needed housework done...

My T-Shirt Drawer
Forenoon watch, 6 bells (11:16 am)

My T-shirt drawer is cool because I've collected lots of them over the years, even if they didn't quite fit me at the time. This morning I was about my Saturday house clean-up (yes, it only happens once per week, I am a bachelor, after all) and got to the drawer with those t-shirts in it. I started trying them on and 90% of them fit me now 🙂

I got several tech t-shirts from the ApacheCon's I went to in 2000 and 2001, and most of them were free. I just couldn't throw them away. Now I can wear them.

w00t.

Company party, The Princess Bride
Posted in General
Middle watch, 3 bells (1:57 am)

I went to the company party tonight with LH and had a lot of fun. I must have laughed half the time we were there, swapping stories about all sorts of different things. We were a bit late getting there, as LH had other obligations that needed tending. We were still in time for dinner (and a very nice cheesecake desert). I found out we only trailed other latecomers by about 15 or 20 minutes, though. The gift exchange was much tamer this year, but also had fewer participants, due I'm sure to the fiasco of last year.

The company party went on for an hour and a half or so, then pretty much dead ended, but during dinner there was talk of the movie "The Princess Bride" (which I'd never watched before). MP knows I've never seen the movie, and was always telling me I should watch it. LH had the movie on DVD, though, so after we left, we stopped by her place, picked it up, then came to mine to watch it. Sam was still hanging out waiting for his friends (and talking to his girlfriend on the phone), but we popped it in and I can finally say I've seen the whole movie. I have, mind you, seen bits and pieces of it before, just never the whole thing. There were some very funny parts. We chatted a bit more and I drove her home. We even exchanged book gifts (I gave her the leather one I've been working on). I had a great time.

Around last September I bought 2 tickets to see Cats in Spokane, and was starting to get worried about who would use that second ticket (you simply can't just buy one ticket to a show like that). I'm glad that problem has been solved now 🙂 I've been trying to remember the last play I've seen, and I think it would have to be Molier's The Miser, and that was back in high school. It was a very...interesting...production. Especially when the main character rode a motorcycle out on to the stage. But that is another story for another night...
